Modes of dissemination
There are several modes of dissemination, as well as different levels of accessibility :
flow : the flow of data – from the supplier to the client application – it directly flows without viewing before integration into the tool concerned. The data is then reworked and accessible;
terminal: the data is directly accessible and searchable via interface ( order book , graphical analysis , time & sales) . Some devices also allow download in Excel searchable data, in agreement with past contracts with suppliers ;
reference applications: real point of entry and single output data in the CIB, Asset Managers and Asset Services companies , the application ” Repository ” is intended for redistribution mastered and optimized data used in operating the business . Data – from multiple vendors is processed and stored in the repository only, and disseminated to applications of the entity.
Starting point of the life cycle of markets datas, the creation and dissemination of original raw data provided by non-integrating suppliers. The routing and aggregation of content is provided by intermediaries: the vendors .
Intermediate : routing data and content aggregation
Among the most famous vendors, Bloomberg, Sungard or Telekurs companies have aggregation of multiple and diverse systems as well as general content routing solutions, and are generally referenced in the majority of consumer societies.
Other vendors opt for a strategy of specialization to a limited number of trades ( software setting of the Value at Risk … ) or meet a specific need in particular ( modeling data set for back-testing, providing software tools for graphical analysis, etc. . ) .
