The iTunes application allows you to purchase on iTunes Store via the Internet. It is divided into eight categories, divided into four tabs, the remaining four being stored in a fifth tab, Other. The user can decide how to organize the eight categories in this diagram. The four default tabs are:
Music offers songs sold on the iTunes Store as “New”, “rank” and “Genres” to preview, and possibly buy.
Videos offers music video clips, buy or to preview an excerpt.
Podcasts offers options to download audio and video podcasts with “News”, “Top 10″ or “Categories”. It is also possible to view them in full if they are free.
Search enables you to search available content on the iTunes Store.
The four categories rows default Others are:
Audiobooks – can buy audio books classified as “Featured”, “Charts” and “Categories”.
iTunes U provides access to the eponymous category of the iTunes Store, which is available as free educational content.
Downloads – displays purchases.
Code – To record an iTunes code, eg iTunes Gift Card (good purchase on the iTunes Store), and so use it to make purchases.
Tone Store to purchase different kinds of alarms for iphone, ipod touch and ipad.
If the platform is accessed via the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, it is necessary to connect to a Wi-Fi network to download any item of more than 50 MB
